PINSPARK Womens Tennis Skirt Review

PINSPARK Womens Tennis Skirt

So, let me tell you the truth about these PINSPARK Women’s Tennis Shorts because I’ve basically been living in them since I got them. And believe me, I’m not usually someone who gets excited about shorts.

Before I bought these, my relationship with athletic shorts was… let’s just say complicated.

I’m not some hardcore athlete or a gym rat, but I’m pretty active. I walk a lot, jog sometimes, play casual tennis, and I’m running after my kids half the day. And for the longest time, I kept buying cheap workout shorts from random stores that either:

  • rode up my thighs until I looked like I was wearing a diaper,
  • squeezed my stomach so hard I felt like I was wearing a medieval corset,
  • or didn’t have pockets, which drives me insane because where the heck am I supposed to put my phone, keys, or chapstick?!

I’d finally had enough. So one night, after the kids went to bed, I was browsing Amazon in my pajamas, eating a bowl of cereal, and I stumbled across the PINSPARK shorts. The reviews seemed good. The price was pretty decent. They looked cute and came in black (which is my safe color because I spill stuff a lot). And the words that sealed the deal for me:

“POCKETS.”

I clicked “Buy Now” before I could talk myself out of it.

The Day They Arrived

A few days later, the package arrived, and I tore it open like a kid on Christmas morning. I held up the shorts and thought:

“Hmm. These look small.”

I ordered a Medium, which is usually my size, but they looked kind of tiny out of the bag. I had that sinking feeling like, Oh great, another pair of shorts I’ll have to send back.

But then I slipped them on. And wow. They stretched. And not in that cheap way where the fabric goes see-through or digs into your skin like an elastic band. They hugged my hips and waist perfectly without pinching or rolling down. I actually stood there in my bedroom and did a few squats and lunges just to see if they’d fall or ride up. They didn’t budge.

I’m 5’5”, somewhere around 145 pounds depending on how many chips I’ve eaten, and the Medium fit me like a dream.

How They Feel

These shorts are super soft. Like, butter soft. But also supportive. It’s this perfect mix of light and stretchy, without feeling flimsy.

One of my biggest pet peeves is fabric that traps heat and makes you sweat buckets. These are breathable. Even on hot days, I don’t feel like I’m wearing a plastic bag.

They’re also lightweight, which is good because I hate feeling weighed down when I’m moving around. I’ve worn them for tennis, grocery shopping, cleaning the house, and just chilling on the couch with Netflix.

Let’s Talk About Those Pockets

Okay. Let’s talk about the pockets. Because they’re literally the main reason I bought these.

They’re deep enough to fit my giant phone. I’ve shoved my keys, my chapstick, a scrunchie, and a folded-up grocery list in there, and nothing fell out. I even stuck a tennis ball in one side during practice. It stayed there the whole time.

My old shorts used to have these sad little “fake” pockets that could barely fit a single key. These ones are real. They’re sewn well and don’t sag or stick out weirdly.

The Waistband Situation

Another thing I absolutely love is the waistband. It’s high-waisted, but not so high that it comes up to your ribs. It sits comfortably above my belly button and gently holds me in.

I’ve got a soft tummy (thanks, babies) and some shorts make me feel like a sausage being squeezed into its casing. These don’t. They’re snug but comfy. They smooth me out a bit without feeling tight.

How They Hold Up During Workouts

I’ve worn these for tennis, short jogs, yoga, and chasing my kids around the park. And honestly? They stay put. No riding up my thighs. No camel toe (thank GOD). No rolling down at the waist when I bend or stretch.

They’re moisture-wicking too. I’ve sweated buckets in them, and they’ve kept me dry enough not to feel gross.

And they’re totally squat-proof. I bent over to pick up a tennis ball and my husband said, “Good shorts.” That’s as close to a compliment as I’m getting from him about clothes.

Everyday Wear

Here’s the thing: I bought these for tennis, but now I wear them all the time.

  • Running errands
  • Walking the dog
  • Cleaning the house
  • Working from home
  • Lounging on the sofa with coffee

They’re basically my new uniform. I’ve even thrown on a cute hoodie and sneakers with them and felt put together enough to go out in public.

Washing & Durability

I’ve washed mine probably 10 times already. Cold wash, hang dry. They still look brand new. No fading, no pilling, no unraveling threads.

I’m pleasantly surprised because I half-expected them to lose elasticity or get weirdly stretched out. They haven’t.

Small Things That Bug Me

No product is perfect. A few small things:

❌ The material does get a tiny bit warm if I’m out in direct sun for ages. Not terrible, but worth noting.

❌ They don’t have a built-in liner. I’m fine with that because I usually wear seamless underwear, but if you prefer shorts with built-in briefs, these might not be your favorite.

❌ I wish there were even more color options. They have some, but black is my go-to because it’s safest.

What I Love Most

Pockets. Honestly, I’ll keep saying it until I’m blue in the face.

✅ Soft but supportive fabric.

✅ High waist that doesn’t squeeze the life out of me.

✅ Versatile enough to wear for tennis, errands, or just hanging out.

✅ Affordable.

Would I Recommend Them?

Absolutely.

If you’re looking for athletic shorts that:

  • Don’t roll down every time you move,
  • Actually have usable pockets,
  • Feel soft and comfortable all day,
  • Look flattering without squeezing you like a sausage,

…then these are for you.

Are they perfect for elite marathon runners? Probably not. But for normal people like me who want comfort and practicality, they’re pretty amazing.

My Final Verdict

I’ve tried a LOT of different shorts over the years, and these might be the ones I keep buying again and again. I’m seriously considering ordering another pair just so I don’t panic when these are in the laundry.

So yeah, I was skeptical. Now I’m a believer.

If you’re on the fence — try them. I’d bet you’ll end up wearing them way more than you expect.

That’s my real-life story. No fancy words, no sponsorships. Just me, my legs, and my obsession with comfy shorts that actually have pockets.

Thanks for reading my ramble. Hope it helps you decide!
