How To Reserve A Company Or Business Name Online In Uganda?

You can reserve a company, society or business name online in Uganda by following these simple instructions on the URSB website. The entire process is very simple and easy and shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes.

Before you get started, you must create a URSB portal account following the instructions linked. The URSB portal account gives you access to the dashboard where you can manage everything to do with business or company registrations as an agent or owner.

Instructions to reserve a company or business name online

• Log into your “URSB portal account“
• Click on “Start”
• Click on “Reserve a name”
• Fill in all “Required information”
• Click on “Save and continue”
• Generate “Name reservation PRN”
• Pay the “Associated fees” to the bank of choice
• Submit form whilst noting the payment PRN

You will receive an acknowledgment in your dashboard and in your associated email about the status of your name reservation. The registrar will either approve or reject and let you what to respond or correct.

Please note that you must select either a business name, company or society under the entity you want to reserve. This will give the registrar option to approve a name basing on what exactly you are registering.

What next after company, or business name reservation?

You will be required to file Form 20-Appointing Directors & Secretary, Form 18-
Address of the company, draft Memorandum & Articles of Association). Also file
Form A1 and S-18-, attach copy of valid I.D for each subscriber and a passport
photograph, then use this link to submit these scanned forms with proof of the
payments. This all can be done online in your URSB portal account.
